That’s why we take the time to build meaningful relationships with both pets and their people, providing personalized care tailored to each stage of life.
Our team combines modern veterinary medicine with a warm, welcoming approach. Whether your pet is visiting for a routine wellness exam, surgery, dental care, or an unexpected illness, you can count on us to deliver thoughtful guidance, honest communication, and gentle care every step of the way.
We’re proud to serve our community and honored to be trusted with the health of the animals who mean so much to the families we care for. For us, this isn’t just veterinary medicine — it’s about creating lasting relationships and supporting the special connection between people and their pets for years to come.
The Doctor is in!
Dr. John Freeman’s upbringing in a family of educators laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to learning and nurturing.
While treading the noble path of teaching, Dr. Freeman’s heart found solace in the company of animals and he discovered a passion for veterinary medicine. Following this passion, he pursued and obtained a Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University.
After a serendipitous journey to visit a former classmate in Spokane, he was captivated by the city’s charm and the warmth of its people and relocated his practice from Reno to Spokane.
Once he had settled, Dr. Freeman purchased Millwood Animal Clinic, of which he was the owner and primary Veterinarian for over 40 years. Though briefly retired, he was constantly reminded of his love for his four-legged friends and the clientele he had helped and healed throughout his many years of practice. With his passion reignited, Dr. Freeman returned to practicing.
Dr. Freeman has worked the last 8 years full-time and is excited to continue as the full-time veterinarian for Spokane Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Freeman and his staff look forward to working with you and utilizing their expertise to assist your four-legged friends and family members. We hope you will join him on the remarkable journey, where every wag of a tail and purr of contentment is a testament to his unwavering commitment to animal welfare.
